The Different Kinds Of Dog Food

Posted on timeDecember 31st, 2008 by userChristine     flagNo Comments

Nutrition and Dog Vitamin for your dog is just as important to that of any other family member, if you care about your dog as much as most people do. But canine nutrition isn’t always as simple as pet food companies make it out to be. You want to make sure that your pet is getting the best dog food that they can. But there are a number of different kinds of dog food to choose from, and making the choice as to what the best is can be difficult. Let’s look at the options you have in dog food and what makes them good or bad.

Homemade

Homemade dog food is popular with people that take the attitude that they want to know exactly what goes into their dogs, and with those that argue that dogs have lived fine off man’s scraps for centuries. Homemade dog food can be made from raw meats, which are popular with some, or can be cooked and mixed with things like brown rice, vegetables, and such. While it does ensure that you don’t get as many additives in your dog food, maintaining a balanced and nutrition-rich diet can be just as difficult in dogs as it is in people.

Wet Food

Wet dog food comes in can or pouches nowadays, and consists of food that’s been kept moist in some way, giving the Healthy Dog a juicy meal to eat. The benefit of this sort of dog food is that it’s easy to provide nutrition that’s been formulated just right for your dog. However, there is the danger of having additives in the food that you wouldn’t want there. Also, wet food can be messy, particularly when it comes time to clean the dog bowl or to store what you didn’t use until the next feeding.

Dry Food

Dry food is popular with some, since it’s not as messy, and all you need to do is pour the food out of a bag, with less cleanup and less mess. This kind of food is also made formulated specifically for dog health, making it good from a nutritional standpoint. However, because dry dog food is often stored in big bags, the food can go stale easily if improperly stored.

Also, because the nutrients and greases in Science Diet Dog Food are often sprayed on the surface of the food, heat in storage or shipping can destroy the vitamin coating or cause the grease to go rancid, which is bad from a health standpoint as well as one of taste. But, whether you go for making your own or using wet or dry commercial dog food, your main concern should be for your dog’s health.

Divorce Is And Can Be An Arduous Task

Posted on timeDecember 31st, 2008 by userChristine     flagNo Comments

Divorce or dissolution of marriage is a legal process that leads to the termination of a marriage.

Most divorcing parents are very concerned about their children’s reactions to their separation and divorce. They want to know, “Will my child grow up to be healthy and happy?” Sociologists and psychologists are just beginning to provide reliable information about the effects of divorce on children. There are a number of important factors.

Preschool children

Children from three to five years of age frequently believe they have caused their parents’ divorce. For example, they might think that if they had eaten their dinner or done their chores when told to do so, Daddy wouldn’t have gone away. Preschoolers may fear being left alone or abandoned altogether. They may show baby-like behavior, such as wanting their security blanket or old toys, or they begin wetting the bed. They may deny that

Anything has changed, or they may become uncooperative, depressed, or angry. Although they want the security of being near an adult, they may act disobedient and aggressive.

School-aged children

Some psychologists believe the adjustment to parental divorce is more difficult for elementary school children than for younger or older children. School-age children are old enough to understand that they are in pain because of their parents’ separation. They are too young, however, to understand or to control their reactions to this pain. They may experience grief, embarrassment, resentment, divided loyalty and intense anger. Their ability to become actively involved in play and activities with other children may help them cope with their family life situation. Children this age may hope parents will get back together. Elementary aged children may feel rejected by the parent who left. They may complain of headaches or stomachaches.

Adolescents

Teens also experience anger, fear, loneliness, depression and guilt. Some feel pushed into adulthood if they must take responsibility for many new chores or care of siblings. Teens may respond to parents’ low energy level and high stress level by trying to take control over the family. Others feel a loss of parental support in handling emerging sexual feelings. Teens also may doubt their own ability to get married or to stay married. Teens may understand the causes leading to their parents’ separation. Their ability to remember the conflict and stress of the divorce may interfere with their ability to cope with the changes in their family.

Things to Know About Truck Rentals for Moving if You Are Planning on Moving with a Pet

Posted on timeDecember 31st, 2008 by userChristine     flagNo Comments

People that have animals consider them to be a part of the family. Normally, they don’t stop to consider how difficult it can be relocating with animals. A animal is much like a child when it comes to relocating. They will need to stop and take often bathroom breaks. You want to make sure that when you do stop in an unfamiliar area to take your pet potty that you think about safety. A well lit, well populated area would be best. Rest areas are often a good area to stop for your pet to take care of business. One way to make sure you can stop in safe areas is to plan your trip ahead of time. This will give you the ability to know how far apart rest areas are. Another way to avoid having to stop more often is to move during the time of day when your animal sleeps the most.

When picking a moving truck rental, you should keep in mind that you want to have space for your family pet. Most of these trucks aren’t very spacious. To be on the safe side you should keep your animal in a crate. Many states are now enforcing laws that prohibit drivers to have their animals in their lap as they drive. This is in effect as a safety precaution to protect all drivers. You will usually find that truck rentals for moving don’t usually have stipulations about animals, as long as they don’t find any damage or messes. In a case where there were any damages or messes in the truck, you would be required to pay a fee either for cleaning or repair work.

Many animals don’t enjoy long car trips, so in order to avoid any unnecessary cleaning costs from a animal that gets sick in a car, it would be good to keep them in their own crate. If your family pet doesn’t particularly care for using a crate, you could give them their favorite toy or blanket to keep them happy.

Many companies offer cheap moving trucks. You will frequently find that the deals are better for shorter trips. You should go over your quote before signing any paperwork, ensuring if all mileage is included, if you need to fill the truck up before returning it, and what, if any, extra fees there might be. By making sure that your truck is clean and up to the contracts stipulations before returning it you will be able to avoid any extra costs that you would otherwise acquire.

Learning Skateboarding With A List Of Starting Skateboarding Tricks

Posted on timeDecember 31st, 2008 by userChristine     flagNo Comments

Skateboarding is one of the most fun sports ever created and is becoming a world wide sport! At first, doing skateboarding tricks can be tricky. But hopefully with the help from this list of skateboarding tricks you won’t have to go through all the pain and frustration of trying to learn skateboarding tricks on your own!

Believe it or not, skateboarding tricks can some times be dangerous. So you should probably wear at least a helmet. I highly recommend that you wear elbow pads and knee pads too as you are sure to crash and burn more than once before you master these skateboarding tricks! If you need more help, check out our skateboarding tricks Squidoo Lens or list of skateboarding tricks Hubpage which includes videos of how to do the listed skateboarding tricks.

Oh, and one last thing, I can not be held responsible for any injury!

The most important skateboarding trick is the ollie. In order to do a kick flip, heel flip, pop shove it, and pretty much every other skateboarding trick involves the ollie. To ollie put your front foot in the middle of your board and your back foot on the tail. Then to ollie you snap the tail of your board down, then jump, and after you jump move your front foot up to the truck bolts at the front of your board to even out. Now you know how to do an ollie. But just like any other trick the ollie might take a few tries to get it.

A pop shove-it is when your board does a 180 spin in the air. For the pop shove-it, start by doing an ollie then you move your back foot in backward in a sweeping motion and, move your front foot forward just a little bit, then after the board does a 180 you catch the board with your feet and land! And thats how you do the pop shove-it!

To kick flip you put your back foot on tail and your front foot behind the front truck bolts (kind of like you are going to ollie). But have your front foot at an angle (like a 45 degree angle). As you ollie move your front foot to the where the board starts to rise, then flick your foot to the side. Then bring your foot back and after the board has went all the way around catch the board with your feet.

The heel flip is some what like the kick flip, just a little different. To do a heel flip put your back foot on the tail so only three fourths of your foot is actually on your board. Put your front foot by the truck bolts, with your toes hanging off the side of the board. Then slide your front foot up to the nose of your board towards so your heel hits the corner, so your board flips the opposite way of a kick flip. To finish the trick catch the board with your feet.

To finger flip you have your back foot on the tail and your front foot in the middle or just behind the middle of your board. First you ollie then grab the nose of your board, then flip the board with your hand. Make sure you move your feet out of the way. Then hope fully land back on the board.

Well, that’s it for the basic list of skateboarding tricks. Head on over to SkateboardPlanet.net to see our full skateboarding tricks page which includes some videos to help you. Good luck learning this great sport. Hope you heal fast!

A Look Into The World’s Most Popular Hooded Bathrobe

Posted on timeDecember 31st, 2008 by userChristine     flagNo Comments

Product spotlight time! This month, I want to look into the popular Barefoot Dreams hooded robe. I recommend this robe as a gift for the hard-to-please, because chances are they would never think to get this luxurious robe for themselves. In fact, that’s solid gift-giving advice in general: head for the creature comforts that most people love but deny for themselves.

The secret behind this particular hooded robe is the fabulous microknit weave. The cozy feel is guaranteed, thanks to the unique Cozychic fabric that is easily-cleaned in the washing machine. In fact, the non-pillable fabric actually gets softer with every wash. Throw this hooded robe on after the shower and pull the hood over; now you’re ready for anything. I’ve tested this robe myself, and I am not exaggerating when I say that it is simply the warmest robe on the market, and it is begging me to blow off all my duties and relax for a hour over my favorite romance novel instead.

This hooded robe also has two oversized pockets, perfect for tucking away that paperback book for the morning escape. The hooded robe also comes in a variety of tasteful colors, such as white, stone, cocoa and a light pink that is sure to please any woman. Fulfilling creature comforts make great gifts, but are often overlooked. Follow this advice for all your gift-giving this holiday season: don’t give from the heart, but from the gut!

Proper Nutrition For My Active Dog

Posted on timeDecember 31st, 2008 by userChristine     flagNo Comments

Dogs that lead a very active lifestyle demand a more comprehensive diet than average dogs require. Examples of these hard-working dogs are those that participate in agility competitions as well as those that team up with law enforcement on a search-and-rescue mission.

You will definitely want to take a peek at these pet carriers for your active dog.

These dogs require nutritional needs that are different from an average household pet. Most of these sporting and working dogs participate in intermediate activities as well. These are activities that require low to moderate duration and intensity. Examples include: Competition or agility, service, search and rescue, tracking or hunting, police or guarding, detection, and even managing livestock.

Be sure to take a look at these pet strollers to give your hunting dog a hand.

A typical working dog would need about 2 – 5 times more calories than a less active dog. These extra calories are converted into energy that helps our dog athletes perform better. This is crucial for these dogs during the times when they are most active! Remember not all dogs can handle this lifestyle, so if you want a dog that has this lifestyle, you must get a breed or sporting class dog! You should never work another breed as these dogs are because again not all breeds can handle what these can! Remember these are the Sporting dogs such as your herders, retrievers, ect.

“What nutrients should my athletic dog be getting? What do I look for?” is a common question! We have outlined 4 basic and essential nutrients that should be in your Working/Sporting dog’s diet!

For your working dog you will need to pick up some dog supplies to keep them cool and collective.

The first essential in your busy guy or gal’s diet is Carbohydrates! Carbohydrates in minimal amounts are great for your dog! Your dog does not need alot of carbs and you should monitor how much your dog is getting because too many carbohydrates can make your dog’s performance sluggish and is bad for them. A little carbohydrate gives your dog that extra fuel to keep them going since they are working or in sports.

Protein: Protein contains amino acids, which are the building blocks for hormones, tissues, and enzymes. This nutrient provides energy and helps develop muscle mass for extra size and strength. Keep in mind, however, that too much protein in your dog’s diet can lead to excessive protein breakdown. A busy dog should have a diet that includes high-quality protein, enough to provide for muscle and structural repair.

Fats: The main source of energy for intermediate athletic dogs comes from fats. This nutrient contains about twice as much energy as carbohydrates and protein provides. Adding more fat to your dog’s diet is the best way to increase his energy and strength. A diet high in fat is more appealing to your dog while at the same time providing him with better endurance. Therefore, it is very important to supply him with adequate amount of essential fatty acids along with saturated and unsaturated fats.

Water: A hard-working dog normally loses more water during laborious activity so it is very important to provide him with an ample supply of water to keep him hydrated. This is even more important when your dog is under extreme temperatures (both hot and cold weather).

Improving Your Marriage - It Can Be Done

Posted on timeDecember 30th, 2008 by userChristine     flagNo Comments

Saving a marriage is not easy, but it can be done. Start simply, do not expect big changes over night.
unwanted talks to others will not have good relationship and will lead to friction with others.
To remove the tension from a person, show affection as an act of kindness
Relive all enjoyable experiences in your marriage, and make arrangements with your spouse for more mutually excitements.
Give in a little, for instance by visiting their kin and friends despite your not really wanting to do so.

Show them that you care in simple ways and it can make a big difference, and may help save a marriage, namely yours.
I know that people will say that a break up is just meant to be, but sometimes it’s worth running interference and giving your love another chance.
Giving love a second chance is easy, if you keep it real by just showing your love in naturally simple ways.
You could fix their favorite meal, take them to their favorite place to eat, rent a movie you know that they want to watch but that you are not interested in for a simple night in.

If you want to stop a break up you may need to make simple little sacrifices for the larger picture to work again.
I think the only way to stop divorce is to stop people from getting married. I know that will never happen though because of women.
I believe that woman can not live without marriage than to compare to man that still can live without marriage.
I also think it’s generally women who end up wanting the divorce.
I was told as a child that women were fickle, but I wouldn’t know just how true it was until I grew up!

We could stop a breakup or divorce if we could convince these women that they really don’t want to get married, just don’t tell that to my girlfriend because I’m planning to ask her to marry me and I really hope she says yes!

family life
danashelchan asked:

In the 1980’s, you were expected to put your job first in your life. If you were half dead, you showed up and worked. Now, everyone says My family comes first, I don’t care about my job. Neither of these attitudes does it for me, each one stresses me at work. Will the pendulum ever strike a good balance?
